The developers of "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl" had to actively travel around the Chornobyl NPP and collect references for recreation of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. A lot of real objects were scanned, so the attention to detail is impressive.

The ElAnalistaDeBits channel published a video comparing locations in the game and in reality.

The difference in details between real and game locations

Panoramas of Pripyat and the Chornobyl nuclear power plant from Google Maps were used for comparison of the locations from the game with the real ones. Some of them were probably created by the game developers themselves. The similarity and attention to detail turned out to be very high.

One of the illustrative examples is the recreation of the Culture Palace "Energetik".

Although some details have been changed for the benefit of the gameplay and atmosphere, the building itself has been recreated plausible.

The recreation of the interior of the "Pripyat" café deserves no less attention. The developers created what remained of the stained-glass windows, completely repeating the holes in them. The garbage on the floor, which was obviously not taken so seriously, the walls of the building also look different.

One of the most famous places in Pripyat, which appears in almost every game or movie about the Chornobyl nuclear power plant — the observation wheel in the amusement park — has also been recreated in detail by the developers. The attraction is depicted with even more detail than in reality.

The shots from a height somewhere on the cooling tower near the Chornobyl nuclear power plant look very atmospheric. At first, it may seem that such a place does not exist in reality, but the real shot resembles what can be seen in the game.

It is also clearly visible that the developers have corrected the scale, since in the real Zone the distances between objects are still greater than in the game.

The famous "Duha" station looks no less realistic. Many details have been perfectly recreated, including the architecture of the monument itself.

It remains only to praise the developers from the GSC Game World studio for the work they have done over all these years.

As a reminder, the ban on the review of "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl" has been lifted, and reviewers have something to say about the official release of the game. The title currently has a 74 score from critics on Metacritic.

In addition, the fans of first-person shooters were pleased on November 20 with the new game from the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World, "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl". It became available in Ukraine at 6 p.m. Kyiv time.
