Realbotix, the leading robotics and artificial intelligence company, has presented its latest robot at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2025). The new robot, called Melody, impresses with its functionality, adaptability, and improved user experience compared to previous models.

Interesting Engineering tells about it.

Realbotix is known for its "customizable robots with integrated artificial intelligence that enhance the human experience through interaction, learning, and entertainment". Melody is the next step in the company’s mission to create robots that look as close to humans as possible in appearance and social interaction.

What technologies and benefits Melody combines

Among the main improvements to Melody is advanced motor technology that provides smoother movements, modularity, and natural interaction. Thanks to the use of P-Series servo motors from Dynamixel, the robot moves more realistically, closer to human gestures.

In addition, Melody has advanced micro-cameras in its eyes that provide precise eye tracking and object recognition. It allows the robot to maintain natural eye contact and create more meaningful interactions.

The company has also introduced a patented "skin" technology that has been developed over 20 years. It provides the most realistic look and feel.

Melody, like other robots from Realbotix, has a modular design that makes it easy to transport and store. The robot can be disassembled and folded into a suitcase the size of a carry-on bag, which is convenient for air travel.

Melody is also compatible with proprietary software from Realbotix or other AI platforms such as ChatGPT from OpenAI.

Realbotix CEO Andrew Kiegel noted that Melody is designed to be easy to transport, adapt, and integrate into a variety of human activities. The robot is targeted at industries that require closer interaction with people, such as healthcare, education, and entertainment.

The price of Melody is about USD 150,000. At the same time, Realbotix offers other models — from a robotic bust for USD 10,000 to a full-size robot for USD 175,000.

As a reminder, the fluffy, cute robot Mirumi was presented at CES 2025. It can hold onto a bag handle and shyly turn its head away when people look at it.

We also wrote that the Chinese company MagicLab showed the whole fleet of humanoid robots. They can check products, dance, and work in groups.
