Donald Trump's victory in the U.S. presidential election has led to a sharp rise in cryptocurrency prices. He cannot yet lead the country, as his inauguration will take place on January 20, 2025. But the politician has already promised to turn the United States into a bitcoin superpower.

Therefore, the editors of the Novyny.LIVE website decided to tell you what will happen to the cryptocurrency market in 2025 as a result of Donald Trump's coming to power in the United States.

Cryptocurrency in 2025 — what is the future of bitcoin?

Most experts agree that cryptocurrencies will have a great success next year, as Trump is very favorable to bitcoin. Moreover, he is inclined to make the digital currency a strategic reserve asset during his presidency. If this does happen, bitcoin, according to Galaxy Digital CEO Mike Novogratz, could gain 400% in value within a year.

Oleksii Plotnikov, a doctor of economic sciences, has a similar opinion about the future of bitcoin. He says that bitcoin may start to rise in price immediately after Trump's inauguration, as the newly elected leader will bring cryptocurrency experts to the government.

"Donald Trump's victory in the election caused bitcoin to go up because Trump is quite positive about cryptocurrencies. He believes that this is the future of the United States and that the US debt should be converted into digital currency," the expert said.

At the same time, Plotnikov does not advise Ukrainians to rush to abandon cash and refocus on virtual assets. Even increased financial monitoring by banks in 2025 is not a reason to enter the cryptocurrency market, which is unstable and risky.

Also, not all Ukrainians have the means to invest in bitcoin right now, so in 2025, people who have been in the business for years will be working with digital assets more. Instead, it is better for beginners not to rush into investing in bitcoin now, as there is a risk that they will lose all their excess capital.

In addition, not all citizens have free funds to invest in bitcoin. Those who have been working with digital assets for a long time will continue to do so in 2025. They will probably be able to make good money on the difference in rates in the future, but beginners should not start by investing in the flagship, as there is a high risk of losing all excess capital.

Earlier, we wrote that many countries have a positive attitude towards bitcoin and have created record reserves of this digital currency. Ukraine is among these countries.

Meanwhile, Ethereum funds managed to receive a record investment of $2.2 billion in 2024. Most investors prefer ether rather than bitcoin.
