Minister of Energy told how to save power generation from Russian attacks — what was offered
Minister of Energy German Galushchenko noted that the main protection of Ukraine's energy facilities against missile attacks is not passive protection with the use of special means and facilities, but active protection with air defense systems. In his opinion, this is the only solution that provides a full guarantee of object protection.
Galushchenko stated this at the "Energy of Business" forum in Kyiv, as RBC-Ukraine reports.
How to protect energy facilities
The Minister of Energy emphasized that the massive shelling on August 26, when Russian troops used the most modern types of weapons against Ukraine, proved the importance of strengthening air defense. In such cases, he noted, passive protection does not give significant results.
"The only solution that gives a 100 percent guarantee of object protection, if you can say so, is air defense systems and the ability to shoot down such weapons. Therefore, strengthening air defense is the answer to all questions," Galushchenko said.
The Minister also expressed the need for a selective approach to the construction of third-level protective structures for energy facilities, depending on the terms of their construction. According to him, if such objects can be completed during the next year, the construction should continue. However, if completion is planned for 2026-2027, the Minister believes that the construction of such structures should be suspended.
It should be reminded that Russia is hiring women from Africa by trick for the production of Shahed drones. Together with Russian students of vocational schools, they are collecting thousands of attack drones.
We also wrote that on the night of October 10, Russia attacked Ukraine, using several types of missiles at once, as well as attack drones. To destroy enemy targets, the Air Force used aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
