What marks have critics given to the game "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl"
Critics note that the game offers a hardcore and immersive gameplay that are presented in the previous parts of the series. However, they note that in addition to the wonderful atmosphere, the game has received some not-so-great problems.
The technical side of the game suffers from constant bugs, freezes, and issues with some quests. The AI is also weak.
VGC gave the game a 2 out of 5, the lowest score it has ever been.
"S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 could be a great game in a few years, but at launch it's a technical mess that doesn't use the most of its best ideas. While the engaging atmosphere and compelling side stories make up a significant portion of the complex work, it doesn't recommend starting this adventure at launch," Jordan Midler, a VGC journalist, says.
Games Radar titled its review "The Best, Most Broken Game I've Played All Year," giving it a 3 out of 5.
"For fans of hardcore shooters or punishing post-apocalyptic games, "Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl" is truly incomparable. Unfortunately, due to a number of bugs, it's the best game you shouldn't play right now. Give it some time, and it'll be one of the best survival experiences you've ever played, but until then, only the biggest fans of the series should take the plunge," Games Radar journalist Andrew Brown wrote in his review.
Hardcore Gamer gave the new game the maximum score of 5 out of 5. The critic was delighted with the complexity of the project. It is noted that it is a miracle that GSC Game World developed and released S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 during war and a pandemic.
"Stalker 2" is nothing short of a miracle. It was developed by Ukrainian studio GSC Game World over seven years amid a pandemic and war — among many other challenges. Stalker 2 is a work of love and the best kind of sequel you could hope for. While many long-standing franchises have strayed from their roots in an (often misguided) attempt to appeal to as many players as possible, Stalker 2 knows its core audience well and offers exactly the type of game we were hoping for," the final comment to Jason Mot's review states.
The game will be released in Ukraine for all players on November 20, 2024 at 6:00 PM on PC and Xbox Series.
It should be recalled that the Xbox Game Camp event for developers will be held in Ukraine, which will be focused on development and training. Microsoft Corporation will be the organizer.
