Key phones make a comeback — reasons to choose one for yourself

Over time, you might find yourself wanting to spend less time on your smartphone, but you're not ready to give up modern technology entirely. Android key phones can help in such situations.

Novyny.LIVE provides reasons on why you should switch to a basic mobile phone.

Key phones have longer battery life

Even the most feature-rich key phone won't consume as much power as a smartphone. They don't have huge displays with refresh rates over 60 Hz, power-hungry software, and you simply don't have the patience to stay on TikTok for long.

However, how long such a device will last without recharging depends, of course, on the phone model itself. Since simple programs don't consume much power, the small body is equipped with a battery with a smaller capacity than modern smartphones.

Some of them can last for about a week on a single charge, while others run out of power in a few days. Despite this, you'll need to charge a basic mobile phone much less often than a smartphone.

The key phone fits in any pocket

Users may have noticed that every year it becomes more and more difficult to carry new smartphone models in your pocket because they hardly fit in there. This can lead to a situation where you have to choose clothes not to your liking, but to make the pocket for the phone spacious enough.

Obviously, a small push-button phone will not create such a problem. It will fit more comfortably in your hand, be easier to operate, and you can go for a run with it.

Basic mobile phones track user activity less

Modern smartphones have long made it clear that you can't think out loud about future purchases around them so that every app you open doesn't shout about your preferences in advertising. Moreover, telecom operators also always see your device and document every action you take on the server.

Some Android key phones still support apps like WhatsApp and Messenger, which are owned by META and other tech corporations, so they can hardly be called private.

You might think that "dumb" phones are a step backward in terms of privacy compared to smartphones, but that's not entirely true. They can tell much less about their users than smartphones. They do not support most popular applications that can track user behavior, so such a device will never know where you go, what you read, what you talk about, and what you buy.

As a reminder, modern users are increasingly seeking simplicity and reliability. Nowadays, basic mobile phones with a nostalgic user experience are actively coming back to the market.

We also wrote that some phones have become desirable collectibles. Older models can be sold for a lot of money if they are kept in good condition or packaged.
