The biggest pitfall in hair care — most people get it wrong
Many people still believe that a hairdryer is your hair's enemy number one. They say it dries, damages and causes hair loss. But the truth is that avoiding a hairdryer often causes problems. Everything, as always, depends on proper use.
Novyny.LIVE will give you the details on this subject.
Why it's better to blow dry your hair than to let it dry naturally
After a shower, we typically wrap our hair in a towel and let it dry "by itself". But this can be an issue: the scalp remains wet for a long time, creating the ideal conditions for irritation, itching and even dandruff.
A hairdryer, on the other hand, can help you avoid that as long as you know how to use it properly.
How to dry your hair without damaging it
Do not leave the towel on your head for more than 10–15 minutes, as the hair needs to breathe. Turn on warm, not hot, mode and hold the dryer at a 45-degree angle in the direction of hair growth — this will help maintain shine and smoothness. Use attachments: some help to straighten strands, while others keep curls in shape. Also, do not go to bed with wet hair. The wet cuticle becomes brittle, and friction on the pillow makes it worse.
Other things that damage hair that we often don't realize:
- Dyes and perms.
- Frequent washing with very hot water washes away all the good stuff.
- Constant use of lacquers, gels, mousses — creates an "armor" on the hair that is difficult to wash off.
- Vitamin deficiency — hair, like skin, "shows" when the body is lacking something.
- Mechanical damage — such as combing wet hair or pulling hard with a rubber band.
Even digestive issues or parasites can impact the condition of your hair — sometimes, it’s not about hair care but overall health. That said, a hairdryer isn’t the enemy when used correctly. Our hair deserves the same care and attention we give to our bodies — gentle, mindful, and consistent.
