What cat breed everyone loves?
They have a "plush" appearance and a gentle, playful, but independent personality. These cats get along well with other animals, even dogs, and easily become loyal friends to their owners.
This is a traditional breed from England that has become something of a national pride. However, nobody knows the exact history of its origin. There is an assumption that British cats appeared on the island at the beginning of our era thanks to the Roman legionaries.
Another version says that they were brought by French sailors from the monastery of Chartres, where the monks kept these cats to fight mice and rats. The sailors used the furry hunters to protect their food supplies while traveling.
Either way, British cats quickly gained popularity in England and became an integral part of many homes.
Intelligence and independence
These cats will not beg for food or follow the owner around the house. They can easily be left alone, even when the owner is away all day or for weekend. The most important is to keep them fed and watered.
Activity without excessive dependence
The British love games, but they don't need constant company to have fun. They are happy to play on their own, especially if they have mechanized toys.
Loyalty and unobtrusiveness
Despite their independent nature, these cats are very attached to their owners. They rarely sit on the lap, but they are always close by. Most often, the British lie on a sofa or armchair next to a person, creating an atmosphere of warmth and tranquility.
