Xiaomi is actively working to introduce the ability to run Windows games on its tablets. Currently, the company is looking for owners of the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 model who are ready to take part in testing the WinPlay technology developed as part of the HyperOS operating system.

It was reported by Gizmochina.

It is important to note that this is not a cloud-based platform for online game streaming, but a technology that allows you to run games without an Internet connection.

What tablets with the new Winplay emulator will be able to run

There are already many services on the market that provide access to game streaming on mobile devices. However, Xiaomi offers an innovative approach — WinPlay allows you to run Windows software directly on the tablet. According to the company, the loss of GPU performance is only 2.9%, which is a significant achievement.

Even more impressive is the fact that Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro managed to run Steam, which provides access to Valve’s extensive library of games. However, it is important to note that not all games are supported, which is expected for a device that is not a full-fledged Windows-based laptop. For comparison, even Valve’s own SteamOS has difficulties running certain games.

The well-known insider Digital Chat Station has posted an image showing the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro 12.4 tablet running a Windows game via WinPlay with support for Xbox controllers. Moreover, the Tomb Raider game was successfully run on the tablet.

As a reminder, Nintendo has finally made an official announcement of the new Switch 2 gaming console, which has a new design and improved specifications. More details about the new product are expected in April.
