At the Unpacked event, the company Samsung unveiled the new AR/VR headset codenamed Project Moohan. The device is designed to compete with Apple’s Vision Pro, and the similarity of design between the devices may even mislead users.

MacRumors writes about it.

What is known about the VR headset from Samsung

Samsung is creating the headset in collaboration with Google. It will run on the Android XR operating system, which Google introduced at the end of last year. Android XR will provide features similar to Vision Pro — users will be able to immerse themselves in a virtual environment or stay in the real world, changing the level of immersion using the camera to view the real environment.

The new Samsung device will support Google features, including the Gemini voice assistant, which allows you to control the device and receive suggestions about what you see. Samsung describes Project Moohan as lightweight and ergonomically optimized for maximum comfort. However, the specific weight of the headset has not yet been disclosed.

The device will be the first headset designed for Android XR and is expected to be released in 2025.

As a reminder, traditionally, the beginning of each new year is marked by a presentation from Samsung. In 2025, at the Unpacked event, the company unveiled the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which received in-depth integration with Google Gemini Artificial Intelligence.

We also wrote that along with the flagship model, Samsung officially introduced Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+. They retained the key features of the lineup and received a new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and improved One UI 7 shell.
