Alternative to mobilization — what are the advantages during wartime

An alternative to service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine for mobilization is signing a contract. Military personnel who serve under a contract have several advantages — in particular, they can choose their place of service.

The head of the recruiting and staffing department of the Zakarpattia Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Centers Serhiy Shakhlevych told about it.

An alternative to mobilization

During a full-scale war, the alternative service instead of service in the Armed Forces is abolished, but there is still an alternative to mobilization by summons.

It is about contract service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It even provides certain advantages to a serviceman, compared to mobilization service.

The main advantage of contract service

According to Serhiy Shakhlevych, the main advantage of a contract worker is the ability to change his military occupational specialty and place of service.

"Those who do not wait for a summon can themselves choose the military unit they like. After all, the military service for mobilization, where there is a state distribution, cannot offer such a thing. Contract workers not only choose stable financial security, but also provision with everything they need," the representative of Territorial Recruitment Service emphasized.

In addition, in October, the National Parliament allowed foreigners to sign contracts with the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
