Summer shoes get personal — charms, ribbons and DIY flair

This summer, a stylish girl is betrayed by little things. And while someone is still dreaming of "Lorde summer", TikTok is already delighted with another trend. It is called Shoe Charm Summer, and it is a real explosion of personalization. After all, instead of just sneakers, there are shoes with their own story. With ribbons, beads, and pendants. And every little thing is like a piece of you.

How bags gave way to shoes

It all started with bags. When accessories suddenly became emotional carriers: little key chains, amulets, memorable details. But now fashion has gone further — down to the feet. Shoes are becoming a new "platform" for self-expression. It's like the renewed legacy of Jane Birkin, who never left home without her decorated bag. Only now we're "rewriting" this history on sneakers.

The first were Miu Miu. At the spring-summer 2025 show, the fashion house presented several models of sneakers at once — laconic, but with pendants that are impossible not to notice. Then, Coach with a charming Bambi on sneakers, and then a wave that covered everyone. Nike, in a collab with Printemps, decorated shoes with flowers, Adidas created a series with UnheardOf, and TikTok has already exploded with DIY videos: girls change laces to ribbons, add pearls, their own talismans, and beads. 

In fact, we've seen something like this before. Crocs Jibbitz was the first wave of customization that even luxury brands took up en masse. But back then, it was fun. Today, it's the language that young people speak. Simone Rocha has been creating charming sneakers for a long time, reminding us that even the functional can be beautiful.
